Fashion News: Petra Ecclestone is designing leather womenswear to stand up against vegetarian celebrities.
The 21-year-old British designer-and-heiress - whose father is multi-billionaire Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone - has slammed non meat-eating stars and insists she will never remove leather from her fashion line Form.
I am now going to bring out my first womenswear collection She told Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper: "I am not a veggie and I don't have much time for people like the McCartneys and Annie Lennox. "I'm 'all or nothing', so don't have a problem using leather as a designer. I am now going to bring out my first womenswear collection. It will be in leather and out in the spring for autumn 2010. I am basing it on what a girl like myself likes to wear." Sir Paul McCartney has recently been promoting plans for 'Meat-Free Mondays' with a host of celebrity friends - including Yoko Ono, Kelly Osbourne and Moby - to encourage the general public to give up meat for one day each week. The 67-year-old vegetarian believes it will benefit the environment by cutting out greenhouse gas emissions from the world's livestock population. |
