One more HINI case confirmed in state

KOCHI, Kerala: One more HINI case has been confirmed in the state. A woman identified as Mary Philip admitted at Perumbavur taluk hospital, had tested positive for the virus.


The National Institute of Communicable Diseases n Delhi, to where her throat swab samples were sent for analysis, had informed the hospital that she had been tested positive for H1N1. With this, the total number of cases confirmed in the state has risen to four.

Mary had arrived at the Nedumbassery Airport two days before from Canada by Etihad Airways. She was admitted to the hospital as she showed symptoms of the disease.

One more person, who arrived at the Nedumbassery Airport from US today, has been admitted to Aluva Hospital and his throat swab samples have been sent for examination.
