MTV gets notice for `vulgar' Roadies II
2 Jul 2009, 1021 hrs IST
NEW DELHI, India: The I&B ministry has directed MTV to apologise for use of vulgar and abusive words and gestures on its programme `MTV Roadies II'.
The music channel is expected to run a scroll round the clock between July 3-6.
The ministry had issued a showcause notice to the channel for its programme. This is not the first occasion when the channel has run into trouble with the ministry. In 2005, it was issued a showcause notice for airing risque music videos like `Kanta laga', `Chadti jawani' and `Meri beri ke ber'. In 2008, it was slammed by the government for airing an ad for `Axe' deodorant that was seen as obscene and unfit for viewing by general public.
