Blast rocks Pakistan garrison city of Rawalpindi: officials

Islamabad, A blast ripped through a congested junction in Pakistan’s garrison city of Rawalpindi with casualties feared, police and a rescue official said.
“The blast has ripped apart many vehicles. It went with a bang. There are reports of casualties,” said local police officer Mohammad Imran.
“We have received a call about a blast in Rawalpindi’s Choorh Chowk area and sent ambulances,” a rescue official told AFP on condition of anonymity. Pakistan’s powerful military is headquartered in Rawalpindi, a huge, sprawling city that neigbours the capital Islamabad. 0 (0) |
