Banks not extending education loans: CM

Kerala News: Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today informed the assembly that the state would take up with Indian Bank's Association and Centre, the complaint that banks were not extending educational loans to students.


It has come to the notice of the government that fearing default in repayment due to global recession, banks were not extending educational loans, he said replying to a submission.

Many complaints from parents and students in this regard have been received and state would take up this issue with IBA and Union Government, Achuthanandan said.
