Techno Glitch for Kites
8 Feb 2010, 2332 hrs IST
Bollywood News: Hrithik Roshan’s most awaited movie 'Kites', is in news again and this time it’s because of papa Roshan. According to information from sources, Rakesh Roshan, the maker of Bollywood’s first mega budget Super hero movie, 'Krissh' and the producer of his son’s much anticipated movie 'Kites' has serious differences with the director of 'Kites', Anurag Basu. Sources allege that there were constant arguments between the producer and the director about how the film was to be shot. Also, Rakesh Roshan took away the editor’s role of Basu. It is reported that Papa Roshan has roped in Hollywood’s prominent director Brett Ratner, the maker of the 'Rush Hour' series, to edit the international version of Kites. Apparently there are two versions of the movie, one meant for the overseas market and the other for Hamara Bharath. News from other sources claim that, for the desi version Rakesh Roshan had approached ‘3 Idiots’ maker Raju Hirani on the editor’s table because Raju is not only a talented movie maker but also a brilliant editor. He has edited Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s movies before wearing the director’s cap. Sources say, Rakesh Roshan wanted a person like Raju for the final cut of 'Kites' but Raju being the happening man after the blockbuster '3 Idiots' is busy traveling in and out of India to finalise his next production 'Munnai Bhai Chale Amrika'. Much for Papaji’s disappointment, he couldn’t finalise Raju’s dates Nevertheless Anurag Basu is not complaining. He’s reported to have said that he had no creative differences with ‘Rakesh Roshanji’. Everyone knows that he’s proved himself as a film maker with super hits like Life in a Metro and Gangster. End of the day, one must learn to give that space for “Creativity” to surface. Lets just wait and watch how high the Kite flies.
