KOZHIKODE, Kerala: National Investigating Agency (NIA) probing terror cases received information that a plot is being hatched to kill LeT commander T Nazir through fake encounter.

Reports reveal that if T Nazir, the main accused and the planner of various blast cases in the country is killed, the cases would weaken allowing many to flee.

Nazir, who is at present in the custody of Bangalore police informed the NIA about the plan of the fake encounter.

Following the reports, security has been tightened in the jail where Nazir is lodged. Commando experts of Bangalore police are appointed outside the jail.

The special CBI court in Kochi had directed the Bangalore police to produce Nazir in the Kozhikode twin blast cases. The NIA stated that due to security reasons he was not produced.
