Malayalam Movie News: NEW DELHI, The Padma Awards for this year have been announced. The awards would be conferred to 109 persons inlcuding Keralites. Five persons will get Padma Vibushan and Padma Shri for 75. T V Gopalakrishnan, M S Gopalakrishnan, Mira Nair and M S Reghunathan are the Keralites to get Padma Bhushan award.

Malayalam director Priyadarsan, Dr Aadimoorthy, Dr Hareendran Nair, Kalamandalam Sivan Namboodiri and actor Shabana Azmi would be awarded with Padma Shri on the eve of Republic Day.

Late Bhupen Hazarika, famous cartoonist Mario de Miranda, former Governor T V Rajeshwar were among five persons selected for Padma Vibushan award.

Bhajan singer Anup Jalota, industrialist Swati Piramal and wildlife conservationist Ullas Karanth awarded Padma Shri.

Former CVC N Vittal and diplomat Ronen Sen are among Padma Bhushan winners.

Former hockey captain Zafar Iqbal, woman cricket captian Jhulan Goswami and archer Limba Ram selected for Padma Shri award.
