Admitting students wth less than 50% illegal, says Supreme Court
27 Jan 2012, 1021 hrs IST
Kerala News: NEW DELHI, The Supreme Court ruled that admitting students below 50% in Pushpagiri, Kolencherry, Jubilee, Amala and MES self-financing colleges is against rules. But students who have obtained admission violating rules needn’t be ousted this time, the court said.

The students approached the Kerala High Court and earned a favourable verdict after the Medical Council had asked to oust students obtaining marks below 50%. The court directed not to oust students considering their future when the plea of MCI questioning the high court verdict was taken up.

Meantime, the court directed to hand over those seats to the government next year. So, the MES will have to hand 27 seats and 36 seats of other colleges to the government.
