Divisive politics not fruitful; Salman Khurshid tells BJP

India News: Dehradun, Union Minister Salman Khurshid on Friday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its divisive politics and efforts to divide society, saying such tactics would not be fruitful in the contemporary scenario.
"I believe that the way they gained power, they (BJP) tried to emulate the same path many times, by trying to divide our society. But people have become much aware and their experience is so much that now they will not fall for these petty things," Khurshid told reporters here.
"They may dream about choosing their Chief Ministers and Prime Ministers, and they may change it everyday like they have done in Uttarakhand. So they may dream in their hearts about making or removing Prime Ministers, but it would not affect us in any way," he added. Khurshid further advised yoga guru Baba Ramdev to stick to promoting yoga and not indulge in politics. "The way he (Baba Ramdev) has promoted Yoga postures and has tried to make Yoga a part of every household for that I think he should be congratulated. He is known for that. Why doesn't he take this forward? He can advise and support others, but he should let others do other things," he said. Ramdev had earlier on Thursday accused the Congress Party of looting the country for generations, and said that the present ruling party considers it their birthright to plunder the nation. |
